The principle of OLED display is fundamentally different from that of LCD, mainly driven by an electric field. Organic semiconductor materials and luminescent materials emit light through overload current injection and recombination. Essentially, it is achieved by using ITO glass transparent electrodes as the device anode and metal electrodes as the cathode. Driven by a power supply, electrons are transported from the cathode to the electron transport layer, and holes are injected from the anode to the hole transport layer, which then migrates to the luminescent layer. When the two meet, excitons are generated, causing the luminescent molecules to excite. After radiation, a light source is generated. Simply put, an OLED screen is composed of millions of "small light bulbs".
Compared to traditional LCD technology, OLED display technology has obvious advantages. OLED screen thickness can be controlled within 1mm, while LCD screen thickness is usually around 3mm, and the weight is more lightweight. The liquid structure of OLED screens can ensure the anti-aging performance of the screen, and have a wide viewing angle that LCD does not have, allowing for viewing the same screen over a large range without distortion. The reaction speed is one thousandth of that of an LCD screen. Moreover, OLED screens are resistant to low temperatures and can display content normally in an environment of -40 ℃. They have higher luminous efficiency, lower energy consumption, and are environmentally friendly. They can be made into curved screens, bringing different visual impacts to people.
