Triple color phosphor conversion
Effectively improve the color rendering of LED under the premise of high efficiency. The most commonly used method to obtain three primary color white LED is to excite a set of three primary color phosphors that can be effectively radiated using ultraviolet LED. This type of white LED has high color rendering, adjustable light color and color temperature, and the use of high conversion efficiency fluorescent powder can improve the light efficiency of the LED. However, the method of ultraviolet LED+three primary fluorescent powder still has certain drawbacks, such as the low aging rate of fluorescent powder in converting ultraviolet radiation; Powder mixing is relatively difficult; Packaging materials are prone to aging and have a shorter lifespan under ultraviolet light irradiation.
Multi chip white LED light source
Packaging red, green, and blue LED chips together and mixing the light they emit can also result in white light. This type of white LED light source is called a multi chip white LED light source. Compared with fluorescent powder converted white LED, the advantage of this type of LED is that it avoids the energy loss of fluorescent powder during the light conversion process and can achieve higher light efficiency; Moreover, the light intensity of different LED colors can be controlled separately to achieve a full color color change effect, and good color rendering can be achieved by selecting the wavelength and intensity of the LED. The disadvantage of this method is that the semiconductor materials of LED chips with different light colors vary greatly, the quantum efficiency varies, the light color varies with the driving current and temperature, and the decay rate over time also varies. In order to maintain color stability, feedback circuits need to be added to compensate and adjust the LED of three different colors, which makes the circuit too complex. In addition, heat dissipation is also a major issue that troubles multi chip white LED light sources.
