There are dozens of performance parameters for LED full color display screens, including nearly 20 key parameter indicators. Below is a detailed description of the LED device parameters and the corresponding performance parameters that affect the full color LED display screen.
(1) Brightness
Brightness is the basic indicator of LED full color displays. In the industry, it is generally believed that outdoor displays should not be less than 5000nits, and indoor displays should not be less than 1000nits. The overall brightness of the screen depends on the superposition of the brightness values of the red, green, and blue LEDs that make up each pixel. The brightness values of the red, green, and blue are approximately matched in a ratio of 3:6:1. Set different current values for red, green, and blue based on the factory nominal value of the device current to achieve the above ratio. For example, if the outdoor P20 full color display screen uses 1800mcd for green tubes, 900mcd for red tubes, and 300mcd for blue tubes, the brightness of each pixel point is 3000mcd, and the maximum brightness of the entire screen is 2500 points × 3000mcd=7500nits. Finally, by adjusting the current value, the brightness required by the specification can be achieved. Brightness is not necessarily better, as it is appropriate.
(2) Wavelength
LED full color display screen is composed of three types of LEDs: red, green, and blue, each color measured by wavelength. The color of the display screen is closely related to this wavelength. The average wavelength of the red, green, and blue LEDs on the display screen determines the dynamic color gamut range of LED full color displays. Generally speaking, the wavelength selection for red LED is around 625nm, green LED is around 525nm, and blue LED is around 470nm.
