LCD splicing screen is a large screen composed of multiple screens spliced together, which can be used as a large screen or divided into multiple small screens for display. But the disadvantage of LCD splicing screens is also very obvious, which is the presence of gaps, commonly known as splicing in the industry. So, what does 3.5mm LCD splicing screen stitching mean? Firstly, let's talk about the concept of splicing, which refers to the physical width of the borders of two screens after they are spliced together. Since it is a splicing screen, it is impossible to remove this splicing seam. Many seamless splicing screens on the market now only use LED fill strips to cover the gaps, not truly seamless.
Splicing 3.5mm is one of the mainstream specifications in the current industry. The commonly used splicing sizes are 0.88mm, 1.7mm, 1.8mm, and 3.5mm. The larger the number, the larger the stitching.
The calculation method for splicing a 3.5mm screen is to add two borders. Due to the special packaging structure of LCD screens, the width of the borders on the four sides of a splicing screen is not the same. Generally, they are left and top wide, and right and bottom narrow. For example, a 3.5mm border is the physical width of 3.5mm when left and top 2.3mm are added together with right and bottom 1.2mm.
But we also need to understand a problem, which is that although the physical seam of the splicing screen is 3.5mm, when we measure it again after actual splicing, the width of the entire seam is slightly larger. For example, for a 3.5mm splicing screen, the actual seam usually reaches about 5mm.
The reason for this situation is that during installation, technicians artificially budget some space when splicing two screens to avoid compression between the screens caused by the two screens being too close. Especially in long-term use, the splicing screens are heavy and may cause screen sinking, which is to reserve space for the future.
