1、 Classification of scanning modes of LED display:
Scanning mode: the ratio of the number of lines lit at the same time to the number of lines in the whole area within a certain display area.
1. Static scanning: Static scanning is a "point-to-point" control from the output of the driver IC to the pixel. Static scanning does not require a control circuit, and its cost is higher than dynamic scanning, but it has the advantages of good display effect, good stability, and small brightness loss.
2. Dynamic scanning: Dynamic scanning is a "point to column" control from the output of the driver IC to the pixel points. Dynamic scanning requires a control circuit, which costs less than static scanning. However, the display effect is poor and the brightness loss is large.
2、 By environment:
Indoor single and dual color scanning is generally 1/16 scanning, indoor full color scanning is generally 1/8 scanning, outdoor single and dual color scanning is generally 1/4 scanning, and outdoor full color scanning is generally static scanning.
3、 Differentiation by model:
1. The scanning mode of indoor full-color LED display screen: P4 and P5 are constant current 1/16, and P6 and P7.62 are constant current 1/8.
2. The scanning mode of outdoor full-color LED display screen: P10 and P12 are constant current 1/2 and 1/4, and P16, P20 and P25 are static.
3. The scanning mode of single and dual color LED display screen mainly includes constant current 1/4, constant current 1/8 scanning, and constant current 1/16 scanning.
4、 LED display 1/4 and 1/8 scanning modes:
1/4 scan: under the same other conditions, the 1/4 scan display screen has only half the brightness of the 1/2 scan display screen, which is suitable for semi outdoor and indoor use. Its control mode is from 1/2 of two LEDs to four LEDs. The current is scanned between 4 LEDs.
1/8 scan, 1/16 scan: these are lower brightness driving methods, and are generally only used indoors. Their control mode is also deduced from this.
