  1. Direct lightning strike

  Direct lightning contains great energy, with lightning with a peak voltage of up to 5000kV flowing into the ground and having great destructive power. It can cause the following three impacts:

  (1) A huge amount of rich current flows down to the ground within a few microseconds, rapidly raising the ground potential, causing a counterattack accident and endangering personal and equipment safety.

  (2) Lightning currents generate powerful electromagnetic waves that induce extremely high pulse voltages on power and signal lines.
