In the monitoring and display system, the decoder and splicing screen are two main hardware devices. The decoder's function is to decode the signal transmitted by the front-end camera and output it to the splicing screen. The splicing screen is responsible for display. So, how does the decoder connect to the splicing screen in the entire scheme?
Splicing screens, also known as display terminals, are currently the most commonly used, followed by DLP. Some small monitoring rooms also use monitors, and almost 80% of monitoring rooms now use splicing screens because their resolution, brightness, contrast, and other aspects are very good. At the same time, their stability is also good, meeting the requirement of most monitoring rooms being continuously turned on 24 hours a day, and the after-sales rate is extremely low.
The decoder is used to receive high-definition video streams from the front-end and decode them onto the wall. It is a control system used to connect video sources with a splicing screen device, and has various functions such as image segmentation. The decoding ability of different decoders also varies.
The front-end surveillance camera is transmitted to the back-end control room through a network or fiber optic cable, and the receiver of the network cable or fiber optic transceiver is connected to the core switch. The switch is simultaneously connected to the decoder and hard disk recorder to achieve the storage and decoding of video images. The output port of the decoder is connected to the access interface of the splicing screen, and all splicing screens are connected in series with a network cable.
At the same time, it is necessary to write the protocol of the decoder into the splicing screen control software, so that the decoder can be directly controlled through the large screen software, which is very convenient to use.
Although hard disk recorders also have segmentation functions, if there are many monitoring images and you want to adjust and control them freely, then the decoder is still more convenient.
