LED backlight is a new type of backlight used to replace CCFL. Since it is a substitute for CCFL backlight, what are the advantages of LED backlight over CCFL backlight? The first one is to emit light more evenly. Due to the fact that the tubes of CCFL backlight are usually strip or U-shaped, it is easy to encounter the problem of uneven light emission. However, due to the different principles of LED backlight, the distribution of light emitting bodies is uniform, so there is no need to worry about uneven light emission. Secondly, it has a longer lifespan. The service life of a regular CCFL backlight source is 50000 hours, while the service life of an LED is greater than 100000 hours. Therefore, LCD displays or LCD TVs that use LED backlight sources exhibit better brightness attenuation than CCFL backlights after prolonged use. Thirdly, it is more environmentally friendly. Using CCFL backlight will never solve the toxic substance "mercury", which is determined by its luminescence principle. Just take a look at our daily white light tubes and you'll know a thing or two. The fluorescent tubes we use on weekdays contain the element "mercury", and the CCFL backlight, which is similar in principle to fluorescent tubes, naturally cannot solve this problem. However, LEDs do not have this issue. Another point is that LED backlit displays are more energy-efficient than CCFL backlit displays. Taking a 21.6-inch display as an example, LED backlit LCD displays consume about 60% of the power consumption of CCFL backlit displays.
