  Nowadays, LED display screens are popular and popular among screen display options in various places. LED display screens are mainly composed of individual lamp beads on the module, and there are two main types of lamp beads to choose from in LED display screens, namely surface mounted lamp beads and straight in lamp beads. So what is the difference between the two?

  1、 Material selection

  Firstly, there are differences in the selection of raw materials, mainly manifested in lamp beads and PCB circuit boards.

  Inline LED display screen: The module selects light beads with irregular elongated circular shapes, mainly including models such as f3/f5/346, mature packaging technology, good waterproof performance, and a fully illuminated surface; The selected PCB circuit board will be left blank in the relevant solder pad position for easy insertion of plug-in lamp beads for welding.

  Surface mounted LED display screen: The shape of the selected lamp beads is cubic or rectangular, mainly in various specifications such as 3535/3528/2835/2727 (2525)/2121/1921/1515/1010, and the packaging process is mature (the chip is assembled into a metal bracket and then coated with glue and dried), with a single front emitting surface; By selecting a PCB circuit board with a soldering surface, the lamp pins of the surface mounted lamp beads can be directly soldered to the corresponding positions.

  2、 Production process

  From the perspective of production process, the production process of surface mounted LED display module is simpler than that of direct insertion type. The production processes of the two are as follows:

  Direct insertion LED display module: Print IC solder paste on the direct insertion PCB → Surface mount IC → Heat up soldering through reflow soldering → Insert the direct insertion LED lamp beads into the corresponding PCB hole positions → Spray tin → Heat up soldering through reflow soldering on the lamp surface → Post weld processing of the power socket and simple horn socket → Test aging maintenance → Spray three proofing paint and glue on the outdoor LED module (this step can be omitted for indoor LED modules) → Install the lock screws on the bottom shell cover → Test for aging → Pack and ship.

  Tip LED display module: Print IC surface solder paste on PCB → Surface mount IC (including Jianniu and power socket) → Heat up soldering through reflow soldering → Print lamp surface solder paste on PCB → Surface mount LED lamp beads → Heat up soldering through reflow soldering → Test aging maintenance → Spray three proofing paint and glue on outdoor LED modules (this step can be omitted for indoor LED modules) → Install bottom shell cover lock screws → Test aging → Pack and ship.
